Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Asian pear, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, grated Asian pear, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper in a large bowl.

  2. 2

Add the thinly sliced ribeye to the bowl and toss thoroughly to ensure every piece of meat is coated.

  3. 3

Cover the bowl and let the beef marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for best flavor.

  4. 4

Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat until it is smoking slightly.

  5. 5

Add a small amount of oil to the pan and spread the beef out in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.

  6. 6

Sear the meat quickly for 2-3 minutes until browned and slightly caramelized on the edges.

  7. 7

Toss in the chopped green onions during the last 30 seconds of cooking.

  8. 8

Remove from heat and garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving over steamed rice.
