Ingredients

  • 1 large head Cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce (sugar‑free)
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 stalks Green onion, sliced for garnish(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Trim the cauliflower, then cut the head into 3‑4 thick "steaks" about 1‑inch thick; keep any loose florets for later use.

  3. 3

In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, sugar‑free hoisin, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, smoked paprika, and black pepper to form the Char Siu glaze.

  4. 4

Brush both sides of each cauliflower steak generously with the glaze, reserving a small amount for drizzling later.

  5. 5

Place the steaks on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes, then flip, brush with the remaining glaze, and roast an additional 10 minutes until the edges are caramelized and the cauliflower is tender.

  6. 6

If desired, sprinkle sliced green onion over the steaks before serving.
