Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain sushi rice
- 1.2 cup water
- 100 g paneer
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 2 small strips nori sheets(optional)
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the rice until water runs clear, then combine with water in a saucepan; bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 12 minutes until water is absorbed; remove from heat and let sit 5 minutes.
- 2
While the rice rests, crumble the paneer into a bowl, add soy sauce, cumin, coriander, garlic powder, and salt; mix until evenly coated.
- 3
Heat oil in a non‑stick pan over medium heat, add the spiced paneer mixture and stir‑fry for 2‑3 minutes until lightly browned.
- 4
With wet hands, shape the cooked rice into three equal portions; place a spoonful of the paneer filling in the center, then mold the rice around it into a triangular onigiri shape.
- 5
Optional: wrap a thin strip of nori around each triangle for extra flavor and easy handling.
